Description "Fun in the SON" is the ultimate fun and ministry training experience!
"Fun in the SON" will provide your teenagers and youth workers with effective, practical training in many key areas of youth ministry such as:

• How to effectively share Jesus in the youth culture of today.
• How to create exciting youth activities, parties, Bible studies, retreats, and more.
• How servanthood in missions builds leadership.
• The commitment of true leadership.
• How to effectively use multi-media in youth ministry.
• How to involve your whole church in youth ministry through prayer.
• AND MUCH, MUCH, MORE!

The beauty and tranquillity of Table Rock Lake and Mark Twain National forest provide an excellent atmosphere in which to learn and grow in christ. The beautifullly clear, still waters of Table Rock Lake also provide exciting oppurtunities for a variety of water sports such as: swimming, water skiing, tubing, fishing, jet skiing, and more!

Mission

To effectively train students and youth workers to be dynamic soul winners and disciplers in the local church through youth ministry.
To provide an unforgettable experience of fun and fellowship in Jesus Christ for students and youth workers across America.
To impact churches across America through the training and reviving of their youth.

Purpose

To glorify GOD through the encouraging, training, and reviving of our youth preparing them for active, exciting youth ministry in the local church.

Goal

That each teenager will be equipped with a detailed step-by-step, six month plan to implement exciting youth ministry concepts in the local church.
That each teenager would be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit enabling them to be effective in youth ministry upon their return to their local churches.
That each teenager would be involved in the "Prayer Project", a national network of prayer and encouragement once they return home. We feel that the prayer support and encouragement will be a lifeline to them throughout the year.
That "Fun in the SON" will be for each teenager an experience of a lifetime proving to them that being an excited Christian is rewarding and a whole lot of fun!

Schedule of Activities

Mornings

• Large group inspirational worship and praise through choruses and special music.
• Large group devotionals.(Currently working on scheduling a Christian Pro_athlete to lead the devotional time)
• Small group training seminars designed to effectively train you in evangelism and exciting youth ministry concepts for the 1990's and beyond.

Afternoons

• Water skiing
• Jet skiing(if you've got the cash)
• Tubing
• Beach Activities
• Swimming
• Sun Tanning
• Cliff Jumping(into water of course!)
• Boating
• Fishing
• Volleyball
• Golf
• Water balloon launching
• Making new friends

There will be contests offered for most activities for those who are of the competitive nature.(Fantastic prizes will be given away for the winners.)

Evenings

• Large group worship and revival through contemporary music, drama, videos, and motivational messages.
• Late night cabin devotionals.(Student led)

Contemporary Christian Concert

I am currently working on scheduling in a contemporary Christian concert. Some of the names I am looking at are; Geoffe Moore and the Distance, Jars of Clay, Three Crosses, Rebecca St. James, Big Tent Revival, and Michael W. Smith.

3. How to plan retreats, mission trips, summer trips.
4. How to plan exciting weekly events: Monday night football, Breakfast Clubs, Bible studies, Athletics,Fifth-Quarters, After-glows, and Parties.
5. How to plan exciting youth services:Wednesday nights, Sunday Night Live and special events.
6. How to effectively share Jesus in the youth culture of today.
7. How to effectively use multi-media in youth ministry.
8. How to start an exciting music program in your youth group.
9. How to organize an effective youth council.
10. How to get your entire church involved in youth ministry through prayer.
11. How to servanthood in missions builds leadership.
12. The commitment of a true leader.
13. "What do I do? I've been called by GOD."

"Fun in the SON" Ministries

The total cost of attending "Fun in the Son" is $285.00(Not including transportation). Includes 6 nights lodging, 17 meals, training seminars, all activities and water sports. Space is limited to 270 students. All applicants will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis. "Fun in the Son" is expected to fill up very fast! Please apply early to insure your place. Deposit of $35.00 (non-refundable) is due by January 15, 1997. All applications and deposits received by November 15, 1996 will receive a TOTALLY COOL "FUN IN THE SON" Ministries T-shirt or Tank Top FREE!
